Global Data Link Announces Partnership with Telestream

 

Portland, OR, July 15, 2009 - Global Data Link today announced its partnership with Telestream®, Inc - market leader in digital video transcoding and workflow solutions.  Global Data Link, based out of Portland, Oregon, includes live and archived streaming media and content delivery networks as part of its service offering.  Until recently, there has not been an effective mechanism to encode and stream from a Macintosh and production hardware for multiple camera feeds and post-production is very cost prohibitive for many organizations.  Enter Wirecast!  Wirecast is one of the many software products that Telestream offers that provides professional quality production, encoding, and streaming to one or many publishing points simultaneously, and is available for Mac and PC.

Global Data Link Announces Main Office Relocation

Portland, OR, September 24, 2008 - Global Data Link has announced that as of September 24, 2008, its main office will be at 4700 SW Macadam Ave, Suite 301, in Portland, OR.  This new location, situated just south of downtown Portland in John's Landing, is easily accessible from downtown Portland, Interstate 5, Highway 43, and Highway 99E, via the Ross Island Bridge.  This positions us within easy reach of local customers and enables out-of-town customers the ability to locate us easily.  There are many hotels, restaurants, and venues of entertainment within walking distance or a short cab ride away.

In addition to the great location, this office gives us a direct connection to the Portland Carrier Hotel, one of our primary data centers, via one of our licensed microwave systems.  This will enable even greater flexibility and reliability for our customers and partners.

Global Data Link Creates CDN Portal Release

Tualatin, OR, August 27, 2008 - Global Data Link Content Delivery Network  customers can now have full control of their account utilizing an online portal.  The portal gives access to a wide variety of tools including Windows Media and Flash stream management, an online file manager, and an advanced reporting mechanism.  With the stream manger, a user can easily setup and maintain their own publishing points and streams as well as modify existing publishing points.  The online file manager makes it easy to see the entire file structure loaded on the Edge network, as well as an easy way to upload and download files and purge content from the server's cache.  The advanced reporting tools give users the ability to see who's connecting from where, for how long, and which files and streams are being accessed the most.  The system is complete with interactive maps, charts, and graphs, and includes the ability to extract data from any timeframe into an Excel spreadsheet or raw log file.

Global Data Link Releases Off-site Backup Solution Upgrade

Tualatin, OR, April 17, 2008 - Global Data Link's off-site backup solution has been upgraded.  This upgrade offers more features and security to our existing backup solution.  The new version also supports Mac OS X, allowing us to support more clients and offer better service. 

Our off-site backup solution offers our customers the ability to backup their mission-critical files in our secure, state-of-the-art data centers.  In case of fire, theft, or catastrophic disaster, files can restored and servers and systems can be back online in a matter of hours.
